An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Project Officer to join a high-performing state government team responsible for supporting strategic projects, policy development, governance, and stakeholder engagement within a complex regulatory environment.

This role will suit a motivated professional with strong project management, research and analytical skills who enjoys working across a variety of initiatives and contributing to meaningful outcomes for the Western Australian community. Based in Perth CBD, you will work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to deliver project outcomes, provide strategic advice, and support evidence-based decision-making.

Your new role

Reporting to a senior leader, you will play a key role in supporting strategic and operational projects through:
  • Coordinating and supporting project activities and initiatives.
  • Conducting research, analysis and evaluation to inform recommendations and policy outcomes.
  • Developing and maintaining project governance, reporting, risk management and evaluation frameworks.
  • Preparing high-quality reports, briefings, submissions and correspondence for senior executives and government stakeholders.
  • Monitoring project performance, milestones and benefits to ensure successful delivery.
  • Engaging and consulting with industry representatives, government agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting procurement and contract management activities in accordance with government requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation across projects and business processes

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Experience delivering complex projects or programs in challenging and fast-paced environments.
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefing notes and submissions.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
  • Experience working with governance, risk management and reporting frameworks.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach with a focus on achieving outcomes.
