The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced academic leader to join a growing higher education provider as an Associate Dean – Business Studies. This senior leadership position offers the chance to drive academic excellence, lead curriculum innovation, and contribute to the strategic direction of a dynamic and student-focused institution.
Based within the Faculty of Business, you will provide leadership across undergraduate and postgraduate business programs while fostering a culture of quality, scholarship, and continuous improvement.

Your new role

Reporting to the Executive Dean, you will lead the delivery, quality, and development of Business programs across multiple campuses and online learning environments. This role combines academic leadership, teaching, governance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for a senior academic seeking a broad and influential position.

  • Provide leadership across undergraduate and postgraduate Business programs.
  • Oversee curriculum design, delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor academic staff, supporting capability development and academic excellence.
  • Promote adherence to higher education quality standards, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to learning and teaching innovation to enhance student outcomes.
  • Participate in senior leadership and governance committees, including curriculum and academic quality forums.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, faculty, industry partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain engagement with scholarly, professional, and industry activities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Significant experience in an academic leadership position within higher education.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and achieving strategic objectives in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong experience teaching Business disciplines at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Knowledge of higher education governance, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive curriculum innovation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Experience developing industry partnerships and professional networks.
  • A PhD (AQF Level 10) or equivalent combination of postgraduate qualifications and relevant leadership experience.
