Your new role
- Provide high-level executive support to senior leadership, including diary, email, and correspondence management
- Coordinate meetings, agendas, minutes, reports, and briefing materials
- Manage travel arrangements, events, functions, and logistical requirements
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining professional relationships
- Prepare and distribute reports, presentations, correspondence, and other executive documentation
- Support financial administration activities including purchase orders, reconciliations, and expense processing
- Assist with prioritising executive workloads, managing deadlines, and ensuring timely follow-up of actions
- Handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Provide administrative support to senior management and assist with ad hoc projects and operational requirements as needed
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience as an Executive Assistant supporting senior management or executive leadership
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and strong administrative proficiency
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and minute taking
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organisation
- High level of diplomacy, professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities and workloads
- Current Queensland C Class Driver's Licence
- Local Government experience highly regarded
- Experience with TechnologyOne and ECM systems desirable
What you'll get in return
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant to join a busy local government team in Emerald on a 3-month temporary contract. Working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, the role offers the hours of 9am – 5pm. Supporting senior leadership, you'll play a key role in managing executive administration, stakeholder engagement, reports, and meeting coordination while benefiting from a competitive casual hourly rate of $70.16–$76.35 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) and the opportunity to make an immediate impact within a fast-paced and professional environment.
