An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced wellbeing, student services, social work, psychology or case management professional to join a highly regarded university in Sydney as a Team Leader, Student Wellbeing.

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for leading a team delivering critical student support services across wellbeing, case management, crisis response and welfare programs. The role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in students' lives while leading a passionate and dedicated team within a respected educational environment.

This role is available immediately. Candidates available to commence within one week are highly desirable, however those with up to two weeks' notice will also be considered.

Your new role

Reporting to the Manager, Student Wellbeing, you will:

  • Lead, mentor and support a team of Student Wellbeing Advisers
  • Provide guidance on complex student welfare and case management matters
  • Manage and respond to critical incidents and student crises
  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of student wellbeing services
  • Ensure the effective operation of the Under 18 Student Care Program
  • Develop and deliver training and professional development initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external service providers
  • Drive best practice student support services and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate staff rosters, appointments and service delivery activities
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call roster for student emergencies

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Human Services or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a team
  • Strong case management and complex stakeholder management experience
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals through challenging situations
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong cultural awareness and ability to work with diverse communities
  • Experience working within education, student services, wellbeing, health, community services, youth services or related environments
  • Knowledge of international student support frameworks or relevant regulations will be highly regarded

  • $59.63 - $70.00 per hour + Super ~ Equivalent salary package of approximately $110,000 - $120,000 + Super
