AO5 Program Advisor

Your new company

Join a large Queensland government department delivering critical infrastructure and program outcomes across a diverse and growing region. As an AO5 Advisor, you’ll be joining a collaborative and high-performing team based in Mackay that supports major programs and ensures strong oversight, consistency and compliance across a broad portfolio.

Your new role

  • Monitor and report on the financial and physical progress of projects delivery against established performance indicators, including reported savings and recommending any corrective actions required.

  • Assist with financial reporting, reviewing and scheduling of work

  • Investigate and analyse program data and information, prepare timely and accurate advice for ad hoc requests for various audiences.

  • Maintain internal registers and record-keeping through monitoring approved advice and correspondence.

  • Undertake project reviews in conjunction with other District officers, including program/project managers, to audit and assess compliance against established and statewide project and program management systems and processes.

  • Provide support to ensure all project support activities, including project initiation, maintenance, review and project close-off, are undertaken in line with relevant guidelines, policies, and protocols.

  • Assist in producing routine (e.g. monthly, quarterly, annual) ad hoc requests, reports, and presentations.

  • Undertake project governance activities to promote best practice project management support approaches and a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

  • Identify and recommend changes to existing practices and procedures to further develop program and project governance processes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A current 'C' Drivers Licence

  • The ability to view situations through a range of perspectives, analysing multiple sources of information to recognise the broader implications of issues.

  • Identify the underlying cause of issues through considered analysis and integration of various pieces of data and insight.

  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret and present data insights clearly

  • High attention to detail

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

  • A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders

  • Work closely with partners to analyse trends and forecast long-term risks to program outcomes.
