Your new role
As Service Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading the service division, driving operational performance, team capability, and customer satisfaction.
This is a key leadership role balancing people management, technical oversight, and commercial delivery, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring service quality, profitability, and long-term client partnerships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a team of field service technicians, workshop operators, and supervisors, ensuring high performance and engagement
- Managing service operations end-to-end, including scheduling, resource allocation, and job execution
- Overseeing maintenance, overhauls, and repairs of compressors and rotating equipment
- Driving safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and procedures
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, acting as the escalation point when required
- Identifying and delivering operational improvements to increase efficiency, utilisation, and service delivery outcomes
What you'll need to succeed
You’re an experienced leader within industrial or technical service environments, known for your ability to drive performance, build capable teams, and deliver strong commercial outcomes.
You don’t just manage operations, you lead with intent, think strategically, and continuously look for ways to improve service delivery, efficiency, and profitability.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in a Service Manager or senior leadership role within industrial, mechanical, or engineering environments
- Trade qualification in Fitting, Machining, or a related discipline
- Strong working knowledge of service management systems, ERP platforms, and scheduling tools
- Exposure to Oil & Gas or similar heavy industry sectors (highly regarded)
- Solid technical expertise across compressors, rotating equipment, or comparable mechanical systems
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with a track record of coaching, developing, and holding teams accountable
- A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and quality standards
- The ability to build trust and credibility with both internal stakeholders and external clients
- Sound commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve performance, revenue, and service outcomes
- Highly developed organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced service environment
