This manufacturer is seeking an experienced and driven Fabrication Operations Manager to lead their fabrication personnel and ensure the delivery of high-quality products on time and within budget. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving continuous improvement, and managing a high-performing team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Lead and manage end-to-end fabrication operations (cutting, welding, assembly, finishing)
• Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimise workflow and productivity
• Oversee workforce planning, rostering, and performance management
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies)
• Manage budgets, cost control, and resource allocation
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to streamline operations
• Ensure compliance with OH&S, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Monitor KPIs and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
• Foster a strong safety culture and lead by example on-site

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in a Fabrication, Manufacturing, or Heavy Industry environment
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (welding, machining, structural steel, or similar)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, CI, or operational excellence frameworks
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Trade qualification or engineering/operations-related degree (desirable)
