Resort Manager - Pet Kennel

Our client is a well-established and growing pet care and boarding business dedicated to providing exceptional care for dogs and cats in a safe, comfortable, and professional environment. With a strong focus on customer service, animal welfare, and operational excellence, they are seeking an experienced Resort Manager to lead their Sunshine Coast facility and oversee the day-to-day operations of the resort.

Your new role

As the Resort Manager, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the facility, leading a team of animal care professionals while ensuring the highest standards of pet welfare, customer service, and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading, coaching, and managing resort staff, including rostering, recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Ensuring the health, wellbeing, and comfort of all animals through appropriate feeding, exercise, hygiene, and husbandry practices
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and creating positive client experiences to drive customer loyalty
  • Managing resort administration, including bookings, check-ins/check-outs, reporting, inventory management, and financial transactions
  • Monitoring budgets, labour costs, and operational performance to achieve business targets and KPIs
  • Coordinating veterinary care, medication administration, health monitoring, and incident reporting processes when required
  • Maintaining the presentation, cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the entire facility, vehicles, and equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, company procedures, and animal welfare standards

You will possess strong commercial acumen, excellent organisational skills, and a genuine passion for leading teams and delivering operational excellence.

You will bring:
  • Previous leadership or management experience within animal care, hospitality, tourism, retail, accommodation, veterinary, or service-based environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing performance, and building positive workplace cultures
  • Strong operational management skills, including rostering, workforce planning, budgeting, KPI management, and resource allocation
  • Experience overseeing customer-facing operations and delivering exceptional customer service outcomes
  • Strong administration and computer skills, with the ability to manage reporting, inventory, financial transactions, and day-to-day business operations
  • Financial awareness and experience managing labour costs, budgets, revenue targets, and operational expenditure
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • A proactive, hands-on management style and willingness to lead by example across all areas of the resort
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Current driver's licence and the ability to occasionally assist with animal transportation and operational requirements as needed
