School Officer - Level 3

Job description

Seeking an experienced School Officer to assist with a 5-week contract in Townsville. Your new company Hays Recruitment is seeking a professional and customer-focused School Officer (Level 3) to support our client's ICT team on a temporary 5-week contract. This role is ideal for an organised professional who enjoys collaborating and guiding staff and students, maintaining accurate records, and delivering high-quality administrative and technical support across a busy school environment. Your new role
Reporting to the IT Manager, you will provide help desk support and assist with the day-to-day administration of the school's technology services. The role supports staff, students, parents, and the wider school community across Junior School, Middle School, Senior School, Boarding and Administration. Hours will be worked flexibly to meet operational requirements, up to full-time capacity, with standard hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities

Manage and monitor support requests through the help desk system. Record, track and document support requests and resolutions. Provide first-line support to staff, students and parents. Escalate and coordinate complex issues as required. Maintain accurate support records and reporting. Maintain accurate records within the School's asset management system. Coordinate allocation, tracking and return of ICT equipment. Assist with device enrolment, configuration and deployment. Support inventory management and asset auditing processes. Liaise with vendors regarding warranty repairs and equipment servicing. Manage user profiles and access permissions. Assist users with password resets and access-related issues. Ensure account information is maintained accurately and securely. Maintain confidential records and information. Prepare and maintain documentation, procedures and user guides. Support compliance with school policies, procedures and workplace health and safety requirements. Build positive working relationships across the school community.

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or ability to obtain one. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work effectively with staff, students and parents. Experience in a customer-facing IT support role. Knowledge of education technologies, including Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and Adobe Creative Cloud. Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety practices.
