Gundagai Meat Processors is NOW HIRING 20 Entry Level Meat Process Workers Location: Gundagai, NSW Commencement: Immediate start available Employment Type: Permanent full-time positions available Duration: Ongoing, full-time work Work Schedule: Single 7.36 hour shift – Monday to Friday, starting at 6:00 AM Pay: Entry Level Meat Process Workers will start at Grade 5, earning $25.74 per hour, after completing 1 working month you will progress to Grade 4, earning $26.60 per hour, with opportunities to progress to higher grades and increased pay through GMP’s structured grading system under the Gundagai Meat Processors Enterprise Agreement. Come and work in one of Australia's most scenic regional towns! Gundagai Meat Processors (GMP) is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Entry Level Meat Process Workers to join our friendly team. Located halfway between Sydney and Melbourne, and within driving distance of the NSW/VIC ski fields and South Coast beaches, Gundagai is a nature-lover’s dream with fishing, boating, and camping, right on your doorstep. About GMP GMP is a family-owned and operated meat processing facility in regional New South Wales. GMP has recently expanded production capacity and automation to meet increasing demand, especially during the peak spring lamb season.
About the Role These are hands-on roles in our modern meat processing facility. No prior experience or qualifications are required. You will be provided with on-the-job training and have the opportunity to advance within the business.
Duties may include:
• Packing and handling meat products on the production line
• Following customer requirements, pack meat products in different packaging formats, i.e., vac pack, thermo pack, and bulk pack.
• General labouring duties on the Lamb floor, CoProducts and the Boning Room, i.e., cleaning the production areas to ensure hygiene requirements are maintained, offal wash station, removal of ear tags, and sorting of skins, etc.
• Net and string meat products in accordance with daily cut plans
• Operate machinery in accordance with SOP/WI
• Stunner Operator
• Weigh the product and ensure the correct weight is displayed on the product label
• Sorting and inspecting offal for defects (liver fluke, etc.)
• Following daily cut plans
• Working to chain speed
• Working safely and efficiently in a team environment
• Supporting production outcomes and assisting co-workers as needed
