Our global manufacturing client is looking for a Purchasing Manager. Your new company An established organisation within the manufacturing and industrial sector is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to support its procurement and supply chain operations. As Purchasing Manager, you will oversee day-to-day procurement activity and lead the efficient execution of purchase requisitions and purchase orders to support production requirements. You will act as a key procurement contact across finance, engineering, production, and planning teams, ensuring materials are available when required and supplier performance is effectively managed.

Overseeing the end-to-end purchase order life cycle, including the timely and accurate processing of purchase requisitions Managing the creation, issuing, and tracking of purchase orders through ERP or operational systems Ensuring purchase orders are aligned with agreed pricing, terms, specifications, quantities, delivery dates, and shipping instructions Proactively monitoring open purchase orders and acting as the escalation point for expediting and delivery issues Maintaining regular supplier communication to confirm production and delivery schedules Providing updates on material availability and delivery status to production and planning teams Resolving immediate supply issues, including short shipments, logistics delays, and other procurement disruptions Managing day-to-day relationships with approved suppliers and acting as the first point of escalation for operational supplier matters

What you'll need to succeed

A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related discipline A minimum of 5 years' experience in operational procurement, purchasing, or buying Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment Proven experience managing purchase requisition, purchase order, and expediting processes Hands-on experience using a major ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar Strong reporting capability, with the ability to develop tracking tools that provide visibility over procurement activity Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
