Operating across multiple business units and servicing highly regulated industries, the organisation has built an outstanding reputation for delivering specialist solutions to a diverse client base. Following a period of strong growth, the business is investing in its people capability through the creation of its first dedicated HR Manager position. Reporting directly to an experienced and supportive executive leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of HR and driving people initiatives across the organisation.

Your new role

As the HR Manager, you will establish and lead the HR function across the business, taking ownership of the full employee life cycle while acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. This is a highly visible and influential role, combining strategic people leadership with hands-on operational HR delivery. You will work closely with the Managing Director, operational and business leaders to build capability, enhance performance, strengthen culture and ensure best-practice people processes are embedded across the organisation.

  • Leading and developing the HR function across multiple business units
  • Partnering with senior leaders on organisation design and people strategy
  • Managing recruitment, coaching hiring managers through the recruitment process
  • Onboarding, employee checks and compliance
  • Overseeing employee relations, performance management, advising on awards, employment legislation
  • Design and delivery of leadership coaching
  • Managing annual remuneration reviews, salary benchmarking and reward initiatives
  • Developing succession planning, talent management and leadership development programs
  • Driving HR compliance, policy development and continuous process improvement
  • Managing employee risk assessments and compliance requirements
  • Optimising HR systems and enhancing the overall employee experience
  • Building trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation and acting as the key point of contact for HR matters

What you'll need to succeed

  • To be successful in this role, you will be a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys operating in both strategic and operational environments.
  • Proven experience in a senior HR Manager, People & Culture Manager or standalone HR leadership position
  • Experience working in SME and small business cultures with expertise in greenfield and scale up type of work
  • Strong generalist HR expertise across employee relations, talent management and learning & development
  • Experience coaching and influencing senior leaders and executive stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success leading performance, remuneration and salary benchmarking
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial, technical, construction, or other operational environments will be highly regarded
  • Understanding of compliance, governance or security-related people processes in regulated industries
  • A hands-on approach combined with the confidence to contribute strategically at leadership level
