Your new role
As General Manager – Care and Practice, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across service quality, clinical governance, risk, compliance and workforce capability. Working closely with the Executive team, you will drive continuous improvement and ensure services are safe, effective, culturally responsive and deliver positive outcomes for individuals, families and communities.
You will build strong relationships with staff, government agencies, community organisations, clinical providers and First Nations partners while championing a culture of accountability, innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of high-quality, person-centred, and evidence-based services.
- Drive clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management.
- Translate strategic priorities into operational plans and measurable outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and safety requirements.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with government, community, clinical, and First Nations stakeholders.
- Strengthen workforce capability through effective leadership, coaching, and professional development.
- Champion inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive service delivery.
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative models of care.
- Deliver programmes that meet operational targets, contractual requirements, and community needs.
What you'll need to succeed
You are a strategic, collaborative and values-driven leader with a strong clinical background and a passion for improving outcomes across community services.
You will bring:
- Strong clinical expertise, sound judgement and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
- Experience leading services within community-based and/or residential care settings.
- Strong knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards, Human Services Quality Framework, Child Safe Standards and relevant safeguarding requirements.
- Proven success leading service improvement, operational performance and strategic initiatives.
- Experience coaching, mentoring and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to quality improvement, risk management and problem-solving.
- Strong critical thinking, innovation and decision-making capability.
- Demonstrated ability to improve service quality and clinical practice within community-based organisations.
- Commitment to creating safe, supportive workplaces that promote wellbeing and high-quality care.
- Be a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration.
- Extensive senior leadership experience within health, disability, community services or the not-for-profit sector.
- Current Queensland Driver Licence.
- Blue Card, NDIS Worker Orientation Module and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- National Criminal History Check.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Queensland as required.
