Associate

Job description

Your new company

This is an opportunity to join a leading private wealth management firm with a strong presence in the Australian market. The business works with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients, family offices and purpose-driven organisations, providing tailored advice, sophisticated portfolios and access to global investment solutions. The firm is continuing to grow, with a number of Associate opportunities now available across Sydney.

Your new role

There are multiple Sydney-based Associate roles available, including career Associate and experienced Associate positions.
Depending on the team, you may support individual Advisers or work as part of a broader Adviser team, providing high-touch client service and day-to-day support across sophisticated client portfolios.
Duties will include:
  • Support experienced Advisers with meeting preparation, follow up actions, proposals, pitch documents and review packs
  • Conduct client onboarding, account opening, ongoing account maintenance and portfolio administration
  • Manage settlement obligations including funds and securities due, cash and asset transfers, margin calls, corporate actions, quote requests, IPOs and placements
  • Work closely with clients, Advisers and internal teams including Operations, Investment Solutions, Financial Planning and Wealth Management
  • Coordinate cash and stock transfers, corporate actions and international trading execution
  • Assist with client queries, routine account issues and documentation updates, with a strong focus on service and accuracy
  • Proactively manage annual reviews, risk profile renewals and expiring documentation

What you'll need to succeed

  • For Associate roles, candidates with 1 to 2 years financial services or corporate experience will be considered
  • For Career Associate roles, ideally 3 to 5 years experience in wealth management or adviser support.
  • Strong client service, communication and relationship management skills
  • High attention to detail, strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • A resourceful, self-starting approach with a high focus on compliance and service standards
  • Experience with AML/KYC, client onboarding or account maintenance would be highly regarded
  • RG146 is desirable but not essential, with the expectation it can be obtained if not already held
  • Candidates from investment operations, investment banking, M&A, Big 4, tax, accounting or broader financial services backgrounds may also be considered

What you'll get in return

  • Permanent and 24 month contract opportunities available with an established private wealth firm
  • Competitive salary package, aligned to experience plus an annual Associate bonus opportunity
  • Exposure to HNW and UHNW clients, family offices and a high-quality advisory environment
  • A collaborative team culture, approachable management and strong long-term career pathways
  • Hybrid working arrangements available, with two days per week working from home
