About the Organisation
Hays is partnering with a Federal Government organisation to recruit two opportunities within a high performing Print and Design Centre that delivers critical services to senior executives, government stakeholders and business areas both nationally and internationally.
These are unique opportunities to join a fast paced operational environment responsible for the production of high priority briefing materials, training manuals, publications, event collateral and other business critical documents. The team supports a broad stakeholder network and plays an important role in ensuring key information is delivered accurately and on time.
About the Job
APS5 Print Room Assistant
Working alongside an experienced team, you will be responsible for the day to day delivery of printing, publishing, finishing and binding services. You will operate specialist printing equipment, manage print requests, liaise with stakeholders and assist with ensuring tight deadlines are consistently met.
APS6 Print Room Team Leader
This hands on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily print room operations, managing workloads and priorities, supporting staff, coordinating suppliers and ensuring a high standard of service delivery across the function. You will remain involved in operational delivery while providing leadership and guidance to the team.
Working Arrangements
Due to the nature of the role, the Print Room Assistant and Team Leader will be required to work from the office Monday-Friday during business hours.
About You
We are interested in candidates from print production, publishing, mailroom, records management, logistics, operations, facilities management or similar operational environments.
You will bring:
- Proficiency with Adobe Pro Suite
- Experience working in a fast paced operational or production environment
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and operational issues
- Experience using commercial printing equipment would be highly regarded
- Experience with Adobe software or similar systems would be advantageous.
Physical Requirements
These positions are active, hands on roles and will suit candidates who enjoy being on their feet throughout the day.
You will be regularly required to:
- Stand for extended periods
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 15kg
- Reach, bend, kneel and twist when operating and maintaining equipment
- Load paper stocks and consumables
- Undertake basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance activities
- Work with high volume print production equipment in a busy operational environment.
