Hays is partnering with a number of Local Government organisations across Perth to recruit Administration Officers for upcoming temporary opportunities. These roles support a range of business, operational, and community-focused functions, offering the chance to work within collaborative teams that help deliver essential services to local communities.

Your new role

We are seeking adaptable and customer-focused Administration Officers to provide administrative, facilities, and business support across a variety of Local Government environments.

Responsibilities may include:

  • General administration and office support
  • Coordinating meetings, events, and community activities
  • Assisting with meeting room and event set-ups
  • Providing catering support for meetings, functions, and community events
  • Liaising with external suppliers and service providers
  • Ordering office supplies, catering, and general stock
  • Processing purchase requests and maintaining records
  • Managing access cards, keys, and visitor sign-ins
  • Supporting contractors, visitors, and internal stakeholders
  • Assisting with facilities administration and workplace safety activities
  • Providing ad hoc support across operational and business support teams

These temporary opportunities offer full-time hours within a range of Local Government environments. Contracts may vary in length, with the potential for extension and future opportunities for high-performing candidates. Immediate starts are available for suitable applicants.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in these roles, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous administration, office support, facilities, events, or coordination experience
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience supporting events, meetings, hospitality, or catering functions will be highly regarded
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes

Flexibility with working hours is essential. These roles require candidates who can adapt to varying shift patterns and operational requirements, including supporting meetings and events when required.

Local Government or public sector experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
