Hays is partnering with a large Federal Government agency to recruit experienced APS6 and EL1 professionals to join high-performing teams delivering policy, reform, stakeholder engagement, strategy, and project-based work. Opportunities available across all Australian states and territories Multiple APS6 and EL1 vacancies APS6: $60.26 per hour + super EL1: $602.55 per day + super Contract until 31 December 2026, with strong extension potential Full-time hours, 37.5 hours per week Hybrid working arrangements

About the Roles
These opportunities will support the design, development, and delivery of strategic reform initiatives, policy programs, and stakeholder engagement activities. Successful candidates will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide advice, undertake research and analysis, contribute to reform projects, and prepare high-quality reports, briefings, and recommendations.

EL1 Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of complex policy and reform initiatives Provide strategic advice and evidence-based recommendations Lead stakeholder engagement and consultation activities Develop policy papers, briefing materials, reports, and corporate documentation Analyse information and data to support decision-making Manage organisational risks and implementation challenges Contribute to leadership and team performance

APS6 Responsibilities

Support the delivery of policy and reform projects Conduct research, analysis, and policy development activities Prepare briefs, reports, presentations, and correspondence Build productive stakeholder relationships Contribute to consultation and engagement activities Analyse data and information to inform recommendations Exercise sound judgement when managing competing priorities

About You
We are interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

Policy development and implementation Strategy and reform Program or project management Stakeholder engagement Governance and risk Research and analysis Public sector administration Corporate or regulatory environments

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Experience preparing high-quality briefs, reports, and recommendations Strong stakeholder management capabilities Sound judgement and decision-making skills The ability to work in complex and changing environments A collaborative and proactive approach

Government experience is highly regarded; however, candidates from consulting, higher education, not-for-profit, regulatory, and other complex environments are encouraged to apply.
