The agency plays a critical role in helping participants access the support they need to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. Key responsibilities for the EL1 position:

Leading delivery and implementation of reform projects in line with the NDIA's wider reform program Leading analysis of policy issues for implementation and communicating recommendations to a high standard. Engagement to influence and negotiate practical solutions for policy implementation Leading teams to develop policy and corporate documents to a high standard. Collecting and analysing data to inform advice and recommendations. Identifying, building and managing relationships with stakeholders. Designing, contributing to, and leading engagement activities. Applying sound judgement and decision-making to evaluate risks in the context of a complex and changing environment. Contributing to branch leadership, building a positive and high-performing team culture.

Key responsibilities for the APS6 position:

Working within a team to develop and implement reform policy, strategies and projects related to the NDIA reform agenda. Identifying, building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Development of policy, project and corporate documents for review to a high standard Building relationships and engaging with internal and external stakeholders. Designing, contributing to and leading engagement activities. Make decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, under limited guidance to progress work within governance and authorising arrangements. Using data and technical inputs to form recommendations. Contributing to reform projects in line with the NDIA's scheme reform program and corporate plan.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills A great communicator and writer for a government audience Sound judgement and governance skills Ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships Energy, enthusiasm and motivation to improve the NDIS Collaborative approach, working well in teams and with limited direction Experience developing and implementing policy, analysing data and information, preparing and reviewing policy papers, reports, presentations, briefings and correspondence. Contributes to a positive team culture Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. Flexible to work on priorities as they emerge

The Logistics

Until 31 December 2026, with a strong view to extension APS6 - $60.26 per hour + super, EL1 - $602.55 per day + super Full-time hours: 37.5 hours per week Citizenship: Australian Citizenship is mandatory References will be required NDIS Workers Screeners Check or willing to obtain
