Your new company

Join a Defence Consultancy to work with a Department that delivers critical ICT infrastructure services that support government operations and ensure staff have access to secure, reliable technology environments. You will join a highly skilled Infrastructure Platforms team responsible for enterprise storage, data centre infrastructure, virtualisation, backup and recovery platforms.

Your new role

As a Senior Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, administration and optimisation of enterprise storage and SAN environments within a large and complex ICT landscape. You will play a key role in maintaining critical storage platforms, supporting infrastructure modernisation activities and providing technical leadership across the team.

• Managing enterprise storage infrastructure and storage area networks (SAN)
• Deploying, configuring and tuning storage systems across physical and virtual platforms.
• Administering Fibre Channel SAN switches and associated technologies.
• Managing backup, restore and data protection solutions.
• Troubleshooting complex storage and infrastructure issues.
• Producing design, build and operational documentation.
• Contributing to future storage and data platform strategies.
• Providing knowledge transfer and mentoring to junior team members.
• Supporting planned after-hours maintenance and occasional on-call activities.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong experience across enterprise storage technologies and large-scale infrastructure environments.

You will possess experience with some or all of the following:

• HPE 3PAR
• HPE Primera
• HPE Alletra
• NetApp E-Series
• Dell Data Domain
• Brocade/Broadcom Fibre Channel Switches
• SANnav
• Fibre Channel Block Storage Systems
• Veeam Backup & Replication

You will also have:

• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning capability.
• Experience developing technical design and operational documentation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience working within complex enterprise or government ICT environments.
• Australian Citizenship with a Baseline AGSVA Security Clearance.
