Your new role

As the Solution Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping and guiding the digital and smart facilities' architecture for the client. Acting as a trusted advisor to project leadership, you will provide strategic and technical expertise across digital infrastructure, smart building technologies, and health facility systems.
Working closely with EMHS project stakeholders and the Delivery Partner (builder), you will ensure that all digital facility components are designed, implemented, and governed in alignment with WA Health standards and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide architectural guidance for smart health facility infrastructure and digital services.
  • Define and oversee requirements for:
    • Communications rooms and structured cabling
    • Network infrastructure
    • Customer-facing technologies including kiosks and wayfinding solutions
    • Environmental systems including power and cooling
    • Managed Print Services
    • Building Management Systems (BMS)
    • Security systems including access control and CCTV
  • Support digital readiness planning and preparation activities.
  • Develop technical architecture, enterprise architecture, migration strategies, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Provide expertise across digital programme and project specification, evaluation, and solution selection.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with digital delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with digital assurance frameworks, standards, and governance requirements.
  • Provide advice on procurement, integration, transition, and operational delivery of digital services.
  • Support project and portfolio governance activities.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases, investment proposals, and strategic recommendations.
  • Act as a key reference point for architects, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors throughout project delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring proven experience in solution architecture, technology infrastructure, or digital facilities design within complex environments such as healthcare, government, critical infrastructure, or large-scale building projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of some or all of the following domains is highly desirable:
  • Passive Infrastructure and Structured Cabling
  • Environmental Systems (Power & Cooling)
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Facility Security Systems
  • Access Control and CCTV Solutions
  • Extranet Services for Third-Party Organisations and Consumers
  • Network Infrastructure (LAN/WAN)
  • Managed Print Solutions
  • Telephony and Mobile In-Building Services
  • Paging and Messaging Platforms
Additional experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:
  • Enterprise Architecture and Digital Transformation
  • Digital Health Infrastructure
  • Technology Governance and Assurance
  • Vendor Management and Procurement
  • Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks
  • Large-scale Infrastructure or Facilities Projects
