RTO Manager

Hays is partnering with a well-established organisation seeking an experienced RTO Manager to lead the operational management of its Registered Training Organisation (RTO). This is an excellent leadership opportunity for a compliance focused training professional who is passionate about delivering high quality learning outcomes and driving continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Workforce Development, you will oversee all aspects of RTO operations, ensuring compliance with the Standards for RTOs, contractual obligations and funding requirements, while leading strategic initiatives that support organisational growth, workforce capability and training excellence.

Your New Role

As the RTO Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the overall management and strategic direction of the Registered Training Organisation (RTO), ensuring compliance with the Standards for RTOs 2025 and all regulatory, funding and quality requirements.
  • Oversee the development, delivery and continuous improvement of accredited and non-accredited training programs, including Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS), validation, assessment and learner support processes.
  • Drive quality assurance, governance, risk management and audit readiness activities, ensuring robust systems, reporting, data integrity and continuous improvement practices are maintained.
  • Manage student administration, training operations, resources, budgets, contracts and reporting obligations to support effective and compliant service delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Community Controlled organisations, education providers, government agencies and key stakeholders to strengthen workforce development initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team while fostering a positive, collaborative and culturally safe workplace culture.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, collaboration and innovation to enhance training outcomes and support long-term workforce capability across the sector.
What You'll Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing a Registered Training Organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of the Standards for RTOs 2025 and vocational education compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing Training and Assessment Strategies, validation processes and training resource development.
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, funding contracts and reporting obligations.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience building relationships across government, education, community and training sectors.
  • A commitment to cultural safety and the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Desirable

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
