Hays Human Resources is partnering with a leading national organisation to recruit a Senior Employee Relations Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ER professional who enjoys managing complex workplace matters, influencing senior stakeholders and working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Your new role

As a Senior Employee Relations Specialist, you will play a key role in providing expert advice and managing complex employee relations matters across a large, unionised workforce. You will partner closely with leaders and People & Culture teams, supporting a wide range of workforce matters while ensuring compliance with legislation, industrial instruments and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex employee relations matters end-to-end, including performance, conduct, grievances, investigations and workplace conflict.
  • Provide expert advice on employment legislation, Enterprise Agreements, Awards and workplace policies.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, including consultations, restructures and redeployment processes
  • Manage Fair Work and employment-related disputes, claims and conciliation matters.
  • Coach and support leaders through complex workforce matters and difficult conversations.
  • Prepare investigation reports, employment documentation and formal correspondence.
  • Contribute to policy development, governance initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Significant experience in employee relations, workplace investigations and complex case management
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Experience managing Fair Work matters, disputes and stakeholder engagement
  • Exceptional written communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience within healthcare, aged care, community services or another highly regulated and unionised environment will be highly regarded
