Our client, Parekh Retail Pty Ltd T/A IGA Lake Cargelligo, operates supermarket that is 100% Australian-owned and operated. As part of the IGA brand, as independent supermarket and grocery store owner, all the products offered are always individually tailored to reflect store's local community needs. There are a wide range of food products from a broad range of categories

The client is looking for a highly motivated full-time Retail Manager who has a passion for retail, a love of customers and a drive to deliver results to join the team in the business.

This role is crucial in ensuring efficient store management, driving sales growth, and maintaining exceptional service standards. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong operational and management skills, capable of optimizing inventory levels, leading staff, and implementing business strategies to enhance profitability.

The managerial and administrative aspect of your role will encompass determining product mix, stock levels and service standards, selling goods, maintaining records of stock, financial transactions and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Store Operations: Manage daily operations, ensuring a well-organized, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise store staff, fostering a motivated and productive team.
• Customer Service: Maintain high service standards, promptly addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, coordinate orders, and ensure optimal product availability. Formulate and implement purchasing strategies and set competitive pricing.
• Sales & Marketing: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, including promotions and special offers.
• Compliance: Ensure full compliance with relevant NSW and Australian retail, food safety, liquor, and employment legislation. Implement and monitor loss prevention strategies to minimise theft, waste, and shrinkage
• Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, monitor financial transactions, and ensure profitability goals are met.

Minimum Requirements:

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in a relevant field
• Minimum one year of experience in a similar role within the retail sector
• In the absence of formal qualifications, at least three years of relevant experience may substitute, with additional on-the-job training as necessary.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced retail environment

Skills & Attributes:

• Demonstrated experience in a supermarket, grocery, or FMCG retail management role
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team in a high-volume retail environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to drive sales and achieve business targets
• Experience in stock management and merchandising
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Highly Regarded

• Prior experience managing an IGA, Metcash-affiliated, or independent supermarket
• Exposure to regional or rural retail operations and an appreciation for community-focused business
