Your new company
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Ranger to join a local government organisation on a contract basis through to November. Working within a busy Regulatory Services team, you will play a key role in protecting community amenity, investigating complaints and delivering positive compliance outcomes across a diverse range of local law matters.

Your new role
As a Ranger, you will be responsible for a broad range of enforcement, investigation and community compliance activities, including:
  • Investigating complaints relating to illegal dumping, pollution, asbestos, overgrown land and other public amenity matters.
  • Preparing and issuing Notices, Orders and Penalty Infringement Notices under relevant legislation.
  • Responding to companion animal matters including dog attacks, dangerous dogs, restricted breeds and registration compliance.
  • Conducting inspections of construction sites to assess erosion and sediment controls.
  • Managing abandoned vehicles and unattended property investigations.
  • Enforcing local laws, environmental legislation and road-related regulations.
  • Liaising with residents, businesses and external stakeholders to achieve compliance outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports to support enforcement activities.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience as a Ranger, Community Law Enforcement Officer or similar compliance professional.
  • Experience preparing Notices, Orders and Penalty Infringement Notices.
  • Knowledge of local government, environmental and companion animal legislation.
  • Strong communication, investigation and conflict resolution skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence.
  • Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services), Local Government Investigation, Animal Control and Regulation or a related qualification will be highly regarded.
