Your new role

As a Project Safety Adviser, you will provide expert safety and environmental advice to project teams, contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and project safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting project managers to develop and implement effective safety strategies and processes.

• Reviewing contractor safety documentation, including Safety Management Plans and Safe Work Method Statements.

• Conducting site inspections, audits and compliance reviews across construction and project environments.

• Investigating incidents and providing recommendations to improve safety performance.

• Monitoring contractor safety performance and reporting on key safety metrics.

• Developing and maintaining safety and environmental management systems to ensure ongoing compliance with workplace health and safety, rail safety and environmental legislation.

• Delivering safety training and supporting ongoing capability development across project teams.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience in construction, infrastructure, rail or major project safety environments.

• Strong knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and safety management systems.

• Experience conducting workplace investigations, audits and compliance assessments.

• The ability to influence, coach and provide practical safety advice to a range of stakeholders.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.

• Experience developing and delivering safety training and education programs.

• Strong understanding of contemporary safety practices and risk management principles.

• The ability to travel to project sites and support project teams across multiple locations when required.
