Your new company
Hays Trades & Labour are seeking experienced machine operators to join upcoming and existing projects. We are working with a client specialising in large-scale construction who, due to increasing project requirements, is looking for skilled labourers to work across active sites, primarily within the commercial sector.

Your new role
We’re seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our growing team, working across civil and construction projects. In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating excavators safely and efficiently for tasks such as trenching, bulk earthworks, and final trim, while also assisting with general site labour duties when required. This includes spotting, site clean-up, manual handling, and supporting other trades to ensure smooth project delivery. The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating machinery, a strong commitment to safety, and a willingness to get hands-on and contribute wherever needed.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Proven experience operating excavators on construction or civil sites
  • Relevant tickets/licences (RII or VOC highly regarded)
  • White Card (mandatory)
  • Ability to carry out tasks such as trenching, bulk work, and final trim
  • Strong understanding of site safety and willingness to follow procedures
  • A reliable, team-first attitude with the ability to assist in labouring duties
  • Driving licence and own transport preferred
