A local government organisation is seeking an experienced Industrial Relations Consultant to support its People & Culture team through an upcoming Enterprise Agreement bargaining process. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile industrial relations project, working closely with internal stakeholders, employee representatives, unions and participating councils to help achieve successful bargaining outcomes.
Your new role
Support the planning, coordination and delivery of the Enterprise Agreement bargaining process
Participate in bargaining working groups involving multiple councils, employee representatives and union stakeholders
Analyse workforce, remuneration and industrial relations data to help inform bargaining positions and decision-making
Assist in the development of bargaining strategies, proposals, positions and supporting documentation
Prepare briefing papers, reports, presentations and negotiation materials for internal stakeholders
Represent Council at bargaining and working group meetings where required.
Provide advice on industrial relations risks, compliance considerations and bargaining opportunities
Track bargaining issues, commitments and outcomes, ensuring accurate record-keeping and follow-up actions
Support leaders and stakeholders in understanding bargaining outcomes and organisational impacts
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated experience leading or supporting Enterprise Agreement bargaining within local government or similarly unionised environments
Strong industrial and employment relations knowledge
Experience working collaboratively with unions and employee representatives
Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret workforce, remuneration and industrial relations data and translate findings into practical recommendations
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, influencing and communication skills
Strong report writing, briefing and document preparation skills
Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with an internal People & Culture team
