Store Manager (Retail Manager)

Location: Mindarie, Western Australia 6030 Employer: Basil's Fresh Food Pty Ltd Employment: Permanent, full-time and ongoing

Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 per annum, plus superannuation

Basil’s Fine Foods Pty Ltd t/as Basil’s Fine Foods is a gourmet food retailer offering fresh produce, delicatessen products, bakery goods, cheeses and specialty groceries. We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our Mindarie store and maintain high standards of product quality, presentation and customer service.

You will take responsibility for the store’s daily operations, commercial performance and retail team. Working with the business owners, you will manage purchasing, stock, staffing and expenditure, with authority to make operational decisions within agreed budgets and business policies.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Plan and manage store operations, staffing requirements and customer service standards.
• Review sales and customer demand to determine product ranges, purchasing priorities and stock levels.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate purchasing terms and monitor delivery quality and reliability.
• Set and review selling prices, margins and promotions within agreed business parameters.
• Prepare operating budgets, control expenditure and report on sales, labour costs, profitability and stock losses.
• Oversee stock ordering, receiving, storage, rotation and stocktakes, with particular attention to freshness and waste reduction.
• Recruit, train, roster and supervise employees, allocate responsibilities and manage performance.
• Maintain accurate stock and financial records and oversee cash handling and reconciliation.
• Manage merchandising, seasonal displays and promotional activities.
• Resolve customer concerns and maintain consistent service standards.
• Oversee food safety, hygiene, workplace safety and store security procedures.

What you will bring:

• 3-year full time or equivalent part-time experience in a Store Management or related role.
• A relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma or associate degree or higher, or at least 3 years of relevant experience as an alternative to formal qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience managing retail operations and leading a team.
• Sound commercial judgement and practical skills in budgeting, purchasing, pricing and inventory control.
• Confidence using point-of-sale, stock management and reporting systems.
• Strong communication, organisation and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and the handling and storage of perishable products.
• Availability to work a roster that includes weekends and public holidays.

Experience in a supermarket, delicatessen, gourmet grocery or comparable food retail business will be highly regarded.
