Independent Government Agency Seeking EL1 Security Operations Manager - 6 month Contract Your new company
This Independent Government Agency were established to review decisions made under Commonwealth laws. This government body was created as a part of a major reform to restore public confidence in commonwealth processes. They are currently seeking an EL1 Security Operations Manager to be based from any of their office locations. Your new role
As the Security Operations Manager, you will lead the organisation's security operations function and provide expert guidance across a broad range of protective security matters. You will be responsible for overseeing security assurance activities, managing risks, developing compliance programs, and leading a small team to deliver security outcomes across a geographically dispersed footprint. Managing security assurance, reporting, compliance, and awareness programs Delivering training and education initiatives to promote security awareness Conducting security risk assessments, audits, and reviews Developing mitigation strategies to address physical, personnel, and information security risks Providing strategic and technical security advice to internal stakeholders Leading a small team, allocating resources, and managing priorities Reviewing and endorsing security reports, briefings, submissions, and recommendations Driving continuous improvement against PSPF requirements and whole-of-government security standards

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Strong experience in protective security, security operations, or security risk management within a Commonwealth Government environment Sound knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) Experience delivering security assurance, compliance, and audit programs Well-developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills Strong written communication and the ability to prepare high-quality reports, briefings, and recommendations Proven leadership experience and the ability to manage competing priorities A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong judgement and decision-making capability A minimum NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory)
