A highly respected national construction contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex, large-scale projects across a range of sectors is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join its Canberra team. Your new role
As a Contracts Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial and contractual management of a major construction project from delivery through to completion. Working closely with the project and commercial teams, your responsibilities will include:
Managing subcontractor and supplier contracts, variations, claims and correspondence
Supporting procurement activities and ensuring contract requirements are met
Administering head contract and subcontract variations
Assisting with subcontractor payment claims and contract compliance processes
Tracking and managing contract documentation, defects, manuals and project close-out activities
Preparing monthly cost reports, forecasts and commercial reporting
Monitoring commercial risks and assisting with contract finalisation activities
Building strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to support project outcomes
What you'll need to succeed
A completed degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
3–6 years' experience in a Contracts Administrator role within commercial construction
Strong understanding of contract administration, procurement and project financial management
Experience working on large-scale building projects with a head contractor
Exposure to construction management systems such as CHEOPS, Aconex or similar platforms
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively within a project team
