Your New Role

We are seeking an experienced Radio Technician / Communications Technician to join a site-based mining operation on a 7/7 or 8/6 roster, FIFO from Townsville or Cairns.

This hands-on role will see you responsible for maintaining and improving the site's communications infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity across mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and support radio and communications systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot UHF/VHF radio networks
  • Support leaky feeder communication systems
  • Perform fault finding, repairs, and system optimisation
  • Maintain CCTV and telephony (VoIP) systems
  • Deliver infrastructure upgrades and commissioning activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation and system records
  • Respond to incidents and escalations as required
  • Work closely with IT and operational teams to ensure seamless connectivity across site

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Trade qualification or demonstrated experience in Radio Communications, Telecommunications, Electronics, ICT, or similar
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Experience working with communications infrastructure in an industrial, mining, or commercial environment
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills

Highly regarded:

  • UHF/VHF radio systems experience
  • Leaky feeder systems
  • CCTV systems
  • Telephony and VoIP systems
  • Mining or remote-site experience
