Class Action Lawyer (2+PQE)

Job description

Your new company

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing litigation practice with ambitions to become a market leader in the class actions space.

With an established reputation in complex disputes and plaintiff litigation, the firm has recently expanded its class actions practice and is investing heavily in this area. The team is currently acting on a number of significant and high-profile investigations and proceedings involving consumer rights, product liability, financial services, environmental events and alleged corporate misconduct.

The practice is driven by a commitment to improving access to justice and holding large organisations accountable, giving lawyers the opportunity to work on matters that can deliver meaningful outcomes for large groups of affected individuals.

Your new role

As a Class Action Solicitor, you will work alongside experienced litigators on complex and often high-profile matters from investigation through to resolution.
This role offers exposure to all stages of the class action lifecycle, including:
  • Investigating potential class actions and assessing claims
  • Conducting detailed legal research and strategic case analysis
  • Drafting pleadings, court documents and settlement materials
  • Engaging with clients, experts, counsel and other stakeholders
  • Assisting with court hearings, mediations and settlement negotiations
  • Supporting the progression of large-scale and multi-party litigation
  • Contributing to matters involving consumer protection, product liability, financial services, environmental incidents and other large-scale disputes
You will have the opportunity to work on matters that attract significant public interest and involve some of Australia's largest corporations and institutions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Admission as a solicitor in Australia
  • Ideally 2+ years' PQE in class actions, commercial litigation, plaintiff litigation or general disputes
  • Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in complex litigation
  • A passion for achieving positive outcomes for clients and advancing access to justice

What you'll get in return

  • Exposure to some of Australia's most complex and high-profile litigation matters
  • Hands-on involvement in an expanding class actions practice from an early stage
  • Mentorship from experienced litigators and recognised dispute resolution professionals
  • The opportunity to work on cases that can have significant social, commercial and regulatory impact
  • Genuine career progression opportunities as the practice continues to grow
  • A supportive, collaborative and high-performing team environment
  • A competitive salary package and long-term career development prospects
