Your new role
Reporting to a senior legal leader and working within a lean and high-performing global legal team, this newly created Senior Legal Counsel position will be based in Sydney and form part of a specialist commercial legal team. - Advising on data privacy, governance and compliance matters.
- Managing cross-border contractual arrangements, including matters involving US-based counterparties and legal frameworks.
- Working closely with commercial, technology, risk, compliance and people leaders across the organisation.
- Engaging with external counsel where required while maintaining ownership of legal matters and negotiations.
- Supporting the development of legal processes, governance frameworks and strategic initiatives as the business continues to scale.
This is a hands-on role offering significant autonomy, responsibility and exposure to sophisticated international transactions.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally possess:
- A strong legal foundation gained within a leading commercial law firm.

- Strong expertise across technology, infrastructure, SaaS, cloud, data centre or related commercial environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to manage complex transactions independently and provide pragmatic commercial advice.
- Experience advising on data privacy and information governance matters, including familiarity with international privacy frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA or similar regimes.
- A commercially focused and solutions-oriented mindset.
In-house experience will be highly regarded, particularly within a fast-paced, high-growth or technology-focused environment. International experience, especially exposure to the US market, will also be viewed favourably.
What you'll get in return
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a fast-growing global business operating within one of the most dynamic sectors of the technology market.
In return, you will receive:
- Exposure to complex, high-profile international transactions.
- The opportunity to work alongside senior executives and key decision-makers.
- A position within a lean, collaborative and highly capable legal team.
- Supportive leadership committed to professional development and career growth.
