About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our growing construction team, specialising in building façade construction across Victoria. Our company undertakes a full range of facade construction projects throughout Victoria, including private residential properties, commercial buildings and government projects. Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Study construction drawings, technical specifications and external facade renovation plans, clarify the specific materials, size specifications related to carpentry, as well as the specific procedures and core requirements for structure build up, sub framing install and levelling, and External cladding install.

2. Select, stock and sort out wooden keel/metal keel frame systems, external wall cladding panels and carpentry supporting components; at the same time, use hand and electric tools to measure, cut, shape, assemble and cut materials such as wood, aluminium, steel, fibre cement boards and non-combustible external wall panels to ensure precise material dimensions and prepare for structure build up, sub framing install and levelling, and External cladding install.

3. Be responsible for structure build up, erect, install and adjust the structural frame and supporting keel; focus on completing sub framing install and levelling, accurately adjust the levelness and verticality of the sub keel to ensure the keel is flat and firm; synchronously install carpentry-related structures such as counter battens/battens, door and window frame wooden structures, and external wall skeleton systems to lay the foundation for subsequent External cladding install.

4. Demolish the original old external wall wooden panels, damaged wooden keels and old frame components of residential and commercial buildings, clean the operation area, and ensure the safety and construction space for various carpentry operations.

5. Complete External cladding install in accordance with Australian building standards, accurately install the adapted non-combustible external wall panels on the levelled sub keel and main frame; synchronously install supporting keels, wall skeletons and door and window frame supporting wood components to ensure firm installation and neat fitting.

6. Verify the dimensions, levelness and verticality of each process, focus on checking the stability of structure build up, the accuracy of sub keel leveling and the flatness of External cladding install, ensure that the wooden frame and panel installation are neat, square and structurally accurate, complying with construction standards; at the same time, be responsible for the pre-assembly and forming of wooden and panel components for later installation, repair and replace aging and damaged wooden structures and external wall wood accessories in the external facade renovation project to ensure the overall construction quality and service life.

Skills and Experience Required
• Relevant trade qualification in carpentry or at least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in external cladding construction and replacement, façade remediation, or commercial construction projects is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Ability to work at heights and in active construction environments
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work within project deadlines
