Our client is a highly reputable property and construction business with a strong presence across residential and commercial developments throughout Queensland. With an impressive pipeline of projects and continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their collaborative finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, subcontractor payments and expense claims while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and project stakeholders.
Your Role
This position would suit a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment and takes pride in delivering accurate financial support to a growing organisation. Key Responsibilities
Processing high-volume supplier and subcontractor invoices accurately and within agreed timeframes. Matching invoices against purchase orders and resolving discrepancies. Reconciling supplier statements and investigating outstanding items. Managing supplier enquiries and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payment runs. Maintaining accurate accounts payable records and supporting audit requirements. Assisting with month-end reporting and reconciliations. Supporting process improvement initiatives and finance system enhancements. Working closely with project managers, site teams and suppliers to ensure smooth financial operations.
What you need to be successful
Previous experience in an Accounts Payable position, preferably within construction, property or project-based environments. Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial controls. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERP or accounting systems. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. The ability to prioritise competing deadlines and manage a high-volume workload. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
