Location: 161 Parramatta Rd, Homebush, NSW 2140 Salary: $98,000 plus 12% superannuation Position: Full time, Part time

Our client, Organic International Pty Ltd T/A Back To Eden, is an established wholesaler of premium-quality organic fresh produce, specialising in the sourcing and distribution of fresh organic fruits to customers across Australia. The business works with local suppliers and wholesale markets to maintain a consistent supply of quality produce while supporting sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.

As the business continues to manage a substantial volume of purchasing, sales, inventory and operational transactions, Organic International is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to join its team. The position will be responsible for managing and supporting the company's financial and accounting functions, ensuring that financial records are maintained accurately and that management has access to reliable financial information to support business operations and decision-making.

The successful candidate will work closely with management and relevant operational personnel to oversee accounting activities, prepare financial reports, monitor expenditure and revenue, assist with budgeting and cash flow management, and ensure compliance with relevant taxation and financial reporting requirements.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a closely related field.
• A minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience using accounting software and financial management systems.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Preparing and analysing financial statements, management accounts and other financial reports to provide management with an accurate understanding of the company's financial performance and position.
• Examining revenue, gross margins, operating expenses, inventory costs and other financial data to identify significant trends, variances and areas requiring management attention.
• Developing and monitoring budgets, financial forecasts and cash flow projections, and providing advice to management regarding financial performance and future financial requirements.
• Analysing the financial impact of purchasing, inventory movements, stock losses, wastage and pricing decisions within the fresh produce wholesale operations.
• Preparing financial analyses and reports to support management in making informed decisions regarding business operations, expenditure, profitability and growth.
• Preparing and reviewing information required for Business Activity Statements, income tax obligations and other relevant taxation and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Advising management on appropriate accounting treatments, financial policies and procedures to support sound financial management and regulatory compliance.
• Reviewing existing accounting processes and internal financial controls and recommending improvements to strengthen financial accuracy, accountability and operational efficiency.
• Monitoring the company's financial performance against approved budgets and forecasts, investigating material variances and preparing recommendations where corrective action may be required.
• Providing financial information and supporting documentation to external accountants, auditors and other professional advisers as required.
• Applying appropriate accounting standards and principles in the preparation and presentation of financial information and ensuring consistency in the company's financial reporting practices.
• Assisting with the preparation and review of income tax and other taxation-related information, ensuring compliance with applicable Australian taxation laws and liaising with external tax advisers or accountants where required.

Skills Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and general accounting practices.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify discrepancies and investigate financial variances.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with management, suppliers, customers and external advisers.
