A well-regarded local council on Sydney’s North Shore is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to provide temporary support during a busy period. This is a fully office-based role within a collaborative finance team, offering the opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations in a fast-paced local government environment.

Your new role

Commencing from 17 August 2026, this temporary assignment will run through to 4 September 2026. Working full-time, you will be responsible for supporting the Accounts Payable function, including:

• Processing supplier invoices through the EZEScan system.

• Managing the weekly Accounts Payable payment run each Thursday.

• Responding to supplier and internal stakeholder enquiries.

• Resolving accounts payable queries in a timely and professional manner.

• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with council procedures.

• Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc accounts payable tasks as required.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing invoices and payments.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

• Experience using financial systems and invoice processing platforms.

• A proactive approach and the ability to hit the ground running.
  
  Experience with Authority (Civica) will be highly regarded; however, candidates with strong Accounts Payable experience from other environments are encouraged to apply.
