Our client is seeking an intermediate accountant to join their growing team. Working closely with experienced accountants, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of taxation, compliance, business services and SMSF work while building a strong foundation for a long-term career. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional looking to expand their technical skills and work directly with a diverse portfolio of clients.

Your new role

Preparation of financial statements and working papers
Preparation of individual, company and trust tax returns
BAS preparation and lodgement
General ledger reviews and reconciliations
Assisting with annual compliance obligations
Supporting company and trust administration requirements
Preparing budgets and forecasts
Assisting with SMSF accounts, tax returns and compliance requirements
Preparing audit work papers and supporting year-end SMSF processes
Payroll processing and bookkeeping support for clients
Bank reconciliations and transaction processing
Building and maintaining strong client relationships

What you'll need to succeed

Accounting degree or equivalent qualification
Previous public practice accounting experience is essential.
Exposure to tax compliance and business services accounting
Understanding of Australian taxation principles and BAS requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or similar
