Accountant

Unique Curtains & Apparels is a growing business specialising in curtains, home furnishings, textiles, and apparel products. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Accountant to join our team and support the financial management and growth of our business. Key Responsibilities
• Preparing financial statements, management reports, and budgets.
• Maintaining accounting records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation.
• Preparing and lodging BAS, payroll tax, and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Monitoring cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Conducting financial analysis and providing recommendations to improve business performance.
• Assisting with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Reconciling bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
• Coordinating with external accountants, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensuring compliance with taxation obligations and company policies.
• Assisting management with strategic financial decision-making. Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience as an Accountant, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience where no formal qualification is held.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation requirements, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or similar systems.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
