Highflow Connections is seeking a dedicated Telecommunications Cable Jointer, and, in this role, you will be responsible for joining, terminating, and repairing copper and fibre optic cables. Your work will ensure that telecommunications networks remain operational and meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, hands-on experience in cable jointing, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of telecommunications networks. You will work collaboratively with a team of skilled technicians to provide uninterrupted connectivity for clients.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• A Certificate IV in Telecommunications Technology or equivalent qualification.
• At least one year experience in telecommunications cable jointing or a related field.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Join, terminate, and repair copper and fibre optic telecommunications cables
• Attach wires and cables to appliances and telecommunications devices.
• Test and troubleshoot equipment using electronic instruments to identify faults.
• Adjust, replace, and repair defective items to ensure network reliability.
• Seal cable sheaths using lead and thermoplastic materials to protect against environmental factors.
• Install and maintain aerial and underground wires and cables for telecommunication networks.
• Erect and test support structures for overhead cable installations.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance of telecommunications systems to prevent outages.
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and client specifications.
• Assist in the installation of telecommunications equipment, including modems and routers.
• Document work activities, including repairs and installations, for reporting and record-keeping.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.

Skills Requirements:

• Strong technical and diagnostic skills in telecommunications systems.
• Familiarity with copper and fibre optic cables, including jointing and termination techniques.
• Strong understanding of industry standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
• Proficiency in using cable jointing and termination tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities to address network issues effectively.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with team members and clients.
