Your new company

This organisation plays an important role within Victoria's building and insurance sector and is currently undertaking a significant transition within its insurance operations function. As a result, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced people leader to join the business and provide leadership, stability and operational oversight during this period of change.

Your new role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for leading an established team of approximately 12 employees, including two informal team leaders, while ensuring day-to-day operations continue to run smoothly throughout a major insurance product transition. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys coaching staff, managing workflow and driving outcomes in a changing environment.

• Leading, developing and supporting a team of insurance professionals.
• Managing daily workflow allocation and operational priorities.
• Maintaining productivity, service standards and team engagement.
• Supporting the management of manual application processes during a transition period.
• Working closely with stakeholders across the business to address operational challenges.
• Contributing to process improvements and ongoing business change initiatives.
• Providing visible leadership and direction to a well-established team.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

• Previous leadership experience within insurance, claims, underwriting, policy administration or a related operational environment.
• Strong people management and coaching skills.
• Experience managing operational teams and workflow-driven environments.
• The ability to lead teams through periods of change and transformation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  
• Experience in Home Warranty Insurance, Domestic Building Insurance (DBI) or a similar insurance environment will be highly regarded. However, broader insurance operations leadership experience will also be considered.
