Our client is a growing Defence consultancy delivering specialist engineering and capability outcomes across major Australian Defence programs. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting a critical Defence capability modernisation initiative.

This opportunity offers the chance to work alongside Defence personnel, industry partners and coalition stakeholders on complex capability integration, interoperability and technical assurance activities.

Your new role

• Planning, coordinating and supporting technical trials and capability demonstrations
• Identifying and managing technical, interoperability and integration risks
• Conducting systems engineering activities across complex Defence capability projects
• Supporting Test & Evaluation (T&E) planning, execution and reporting
• Analysing trial outcomes and technical data to support certification and operational acceptance
• Developing engineering artefacts, management plans and technical documentation
• Supporting capability lifecycle management and sustainment activities
• Providing technical advice to Defence project teams and stakeholders
• Assisting with capability acceptance and operational readiness activities
• Working collaboratively across Defence, industry and coalition partner environments.

What you'll need to succeed

• NV1 AGSVA clearance
• Demonstrated Systems Engineering experience within Defence or complex technical environments
• Experience supporting capability acquisition, integration, sustainment or modernisation projects
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience developing technical documentation, management plans and engineering artefacts
• Knowledge of systems engineering methodologies and frameworks
• Experience supporting Test & Evaluation activities
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
• Strong risk, issue and dependency management capability.
• Defence capability delivery programme experience
• knowledge of C4ISR, communications or mission systems environments
• Joint, air, maritime or land capability programme exposure
• Capability integration and interoperability projects
• Project or Program Management experience
• Defence engineering governance frameworks
• Technical assurance or capability certification activities
• Cryptographic, communications security or identification systems experience.
