Job description:

Deliver speech pathology services across inpatient, rehabilitation, and outpatient settings, supporting adults with communication and swallowing disorders. The role includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, with opportunities for professional development and service improvement.

The Team

Work across 2 hospital sites, North West Regional Hospital and Mersey Community Hospital to provide inpatient, rehabilitation and adult outpatient speech pathology services.

The Role

Assess and provide intervention to adult inpatients and outpatients with swallowing and communication difficulties.

Grow and develop clinical skills through individual and group supervision and the provision of a Professional Development allowance.

Contribute to quality assurance projects focused on service improvement.

You will need

Demonstrated sound knowledge of current Speech Pathology practice.

Demonstrated ability to competently assess and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders in adults and children.

Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate effective therapy programmes with minimal supervision.

Previous experience in a hospital setting or satisfactory undergraduate experience.

Details of appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 37.24 hours per fortnight, as soon as possible until 1 September 2027

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$81,614 to $117,074 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement, Allied Health Professional, Level 1-2

Salary Packaging

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances

Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,529 is subject to qualifications and-or application to the personal upgrade scheme

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Benefits available to eligible candidates

Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Tertiary qualification-program of study accredited by Speech Pathology Australia

Eligible for membership with the Speech Pathology Australia

Or where regulatory requirements exist NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements

Full member of Speech Pathology Australia

Current Working with Children Registration
