An established and growing financial advisory and accounting group located on Sydney's North Shore is seeking an experienced SMSF Accountant to join their team. With a strong reputation for delivering integrated accounting, wealth and advisory services, the business is continuing to invest in its specialist SMSF offering and is bringing this function in-house as part of its next phase of growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an SMSF professional who enjoys managing funds from start to finish, working with clients and being part of a collaborative, long-standing team environment.
Your new role
Manage the end-to-end administration and compliance of a portfolio of SMSF clients
Prepare SMSF financial statements, tax returns and annual compliance documentation
Process fund transactions and maintain accurate accounting records
Assist with the establishment and onboarding of new SMSFs
Liaise with external auditors to ensure audits are completed efficiently and on time
Provide regular reporting and updates to clients
Respond to client enquiries and deliver a high standard of service
Work collaboratively with accountants, advisers and support staff across the business
Maintain compliance with current superannuation, taxation and regulatory requirements
What you'll need to succeed
CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion
Minimum 3 years' experience managing SMSFs from start to finish
Strong technical knowledge of SMSF compliance, tax and reporting requirements
Experience working with a broad range of SMSF investment structures, including property, private equity and other complex assets
Ability to prepare financial statements and tax returns independently
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience using Class Super software (Or similar)
