We take pride in our attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Sewing Machinist to join our friendly team.
Job Description: As a Garments Alteration Sewing Machinist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of alteration and repair tasks on a wide range of garments, including casual wear, formal attire, bridal wear, and more. You will also be expected to assist with other tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform alterations, repairs, and customizations on various types of clothing.
• Operate industrial and domestic sewing machines, overlockers, and other relevant equipment.
• Carry out tasks such as hemming, taking in/letting out seams, shortening/lengthening garments, and other intricate adjustments.
• Handle different fabrics, including delicate materials, with care and precision.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients with fittings, advising on alteration possibilities, and addressing any questions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good condition.
• Stay open to learning new sewing techniques and taking on additional tasks as required.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in garment alterations and tailoring (preferably in a similar role).
• Proficient in operating sewing machines and other tailoring tools.
• Ability to work with various types of fabrics and garments, including delicate and high-end items.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to shop needs.
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Friendly and professional attitude with good communication skills.
