Your new role
As the Senior Communications Project Officer, you will lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of strategic communications and digital engagement projects. Operating at a senior level, you will work across diverse stakeholder groups to manage project outcomes, oversee procurement and contract management activities, and provide high-level advice to support organisational priorities.

You will manage complex project plans, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, drive best-practice engagement approaches and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and to a high standard. The role requires strong analytical thinking, exceptional communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a large and complex environment.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex communications, engagement or digital projects within government setting
  • Demonstrated experience administering, developing or managing content within Squiz CMS environments.
  • Strong understanding of website governance, digital content strategy, accessibility standards and user experience principles.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, risks and reporting frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes across multiple groups.
  • Experience managing procurement processes, contracts and external suppliers.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the preparation of briefings, reports and strategic advice.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and inform decision-making.
  • Experience working collaboratively with technical specialists, digital teams or external partners.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy while managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
