Your new role

Reporting to the Manager of Community Engagement and Communications, you will play a key role in delivering community engagement initiatives, stakeholder partnerships and community-focused programmes. You will work across a varied portfolio that includes engagement projects, community events, advisory groups and strategic community initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:


• Developing and delivering community engagement plans and consultation activities.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with community groups, stakeholders and partner organisations.

• Coordinating and supporting community programmes and events.

• Supporting reconciliation and public art initiatives.

• Providing engagement advice and support across a range of organisational projects

• Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on engagement outcomes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualifications in Community Engagement, Community Development or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in community engagement and/or community development.

  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

  • Experience coordinating projects, programmes and community initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Event management experience will be highly regarded.

  • An IAP2 qualification or communications and marketing experience will be advantageous.
