An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a leading global defence organisation supporting a significant land systems program. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will play a key role in the delivery of complex capability projects from concept through to production and integration.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys balancing technical design responsibilities with project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and engineering governance.
Your new role
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of engineering activities across a complex defence program. You will work closely with design, systems, manufacturing and project management teams to ensure technical outcomes are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards.
A key part of this role will involve the development and management of engineering designs and documentation using Creo or CAD and associated product lifecycle management tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering activities across the project lifecycle.
- Support project planning, scheduling and technical risk management.
- Develop and review mechanical designs, assemblies and engineering documentation.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models and technical drawings using Creo or CAD.
- Manage engineering change processes and design modifications.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Support design reviews, verification and validation activities.
- Ensure compliance with defence, quality and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to support successful delivery outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working as a Project Engineer within defence, aerospace, heavy vehicle, manufacturing or other complex engineering environments.
- Strong mechanical design experience.
- Strong experience using PTC Creo or CAD for 3D modelling and design activities.
- Experience producing and managing engineering drawings, BOMs and technical documentation.
- Exposure to PLM systems such as Windchill would be highly regarded.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage competing priorities.
