An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Project Accountant to join a well-established and growing facilities organisation. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will play a crucial part in supporting a project-based business unit by delivering financial insights, commercial support, and accurate project reporting.
Working closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders, you will provide financial oversight across a diverse portfolio of projects while contributing to process improvements and business performance initiatives.
Your new role
Maintain and update Work in Progress (WIP) reporting across a portfolio of projects
Prepare monthly client invoicing, revenue recognition schedules, accruals, and supporting documentation
Support Percentage of Completion (PoC) calculations and project revenue reporting
Prepare reconciliations and ensure the integrity of the general ledger
Assist with month-end close activities, including financial reporting, variance analysis, and cash flow monitoring
Support internal and external audit requirements through the preparation of accurate financial information
Partner with Project Managers to provide guidance on budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and project performance
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency
Deliver financial analysis and ad hoc support to senior finance leadership
What you'll need to succeed
CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion)
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Project Accountant or Senior Project Accountant position
Strong experience working with Percentage of Completion (PoC) accounting methodologies
Sound understanding of IFRS 15 and revenue recognition principles
Broad accounting knowledge with strong technical accounting capability
Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
The ability to build effective relationships with both finance and operational stakeholders
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
