Operating across EPC and D&C environments, the organisation delivers end-to-end solutions and offers exposure to projects from concept through to commissioning.

Your new role

As a Secondary Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of protection, control, and communication systems across high-voltage infrastructure projects.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the development of compliant, reliable, and integrated designs. While substation projects will form a core part of your work, you will also be exposed to broader transmission and grid infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and delivering protection and control systems across HV infrastructure (typically 132kV–330kV+)

• Supporting the development of detailed design deliverables including schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts

• Developing protection philosophies, relay settings, and coordination studies

• Contributing to SCADA and communication system design and integration

• Ensuring designs meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements

• Coordinating with primary, civil, and structural teams to ensure integrated design outcomes

• Supporting system integration, testing, and commissioning activities

• Assisting in resolving technical challenges and improving design efficiency and quality

• Maintaining compliance with Australian standards and project specifications

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree in Electrical Engineering

• Experience in HV secondary design across infrastructure projects

• Strong knowledge of protection and control systems

• Experience with protection schemes and relay configuration

• Familiarity with Australian standards and grid requirements

• Experience in EPC, utilities, or engineering consultancies

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
